Assignment
30A – Final Reflection
- The most formative experience for me was probably the first assignment, the bug list. That was the one that first got me thinking with an entrepreneurial mindset and how to solve problems from a critical perspective.
- I’ll remember when Avery’s dad
said he’d do an interview, but took 2 months before it actually
happened. The most joyous
experience was when I got good feedback on the business idea, helping me
modify it along the way and come up with something great.
I am most proud of actually developing a viable business idea using the skills and resources I currently have. I always thought starting a business was impossible, but I could start this one right now if I wanted to. That’s fascinating to me.
- I feel I’ve definitely moved closer
to the entrepreneurial mindset. I see more opportunities to solve problems
now, and take more notice of the things that could be improved in some way
or made more efficient.
- I would tell them to keep up
with the lectures, it definitely helps for the cupcakes so you’re not
scrambling to watch everything at the last minute. Also keeping a schedule
of the assignments due is really helpful.
- To foster an entrepreneurial
mindset, you just have to learn how to recognize problems and develop
viable solutions to them. It’s
something that comes over time and is a very useful skill to pick up.
The bug list was also extremely formative for me. It put an entirely different perspective to entrepreneurship. It made me realize it is not about you and what you wish to put out, but the customer and what truly irks them. And yes! I fully agree with you on the lectures. They are essential to passing the cupcakes and I would advise future students to watch them, and not the day the cupcake is due.
ReplyDeleteHi Ulysses,
ReplyDeleteHard to believe this is the last peer review, I can't believe how much content we created in the process! I agree, I found it useful to know that the best ventures start by identifying and solving a problem, not by just randomly inventing a useful product and then marketing it. I also feel like I could plug any number of "solutions" into this process and know if I had a viable business venture. Thanks for setting a high standard with your work, I have know doubt that you will make good things happen for yourself and others.
Ulysses, the bug list was certainly an experience! It was very difficult for me because I sometimes don't notice all the things that bug me! I also agree with your advice for other students. Keeping up with the lectures is imperative. Anyone who doesn't keep up with the lectures is really doing their self a disservice! I enjoyed reading your posts and watching your business idea transform. Good luck!
ReplyDeleteUlysses great work this semester. It was neat sharing the journey as you unfolded a passion into business concept. I agree that watching the lectures is super critical to the success of the quizzes, or rather, cupcakes. I think you should keep picking Avery’s dad’s brain. If he is in that industry he can serve as a mentor to you. Keep up the good work sir.
